Foam Up Research Project : An alternative to solvent extraction

Updated: Apr 30, 2020

TECLIS is involved in a new collaborative Research Project in collaboration with the Institut Laue-Langevin and the Institut de Chimie Separative de Marcoule.

The FOAMSCAN™ instrument will be adapted to be employed at small-angle neutron scattering beamlines to study simultaneously the macroscopic foam properties and investigate on its structure at the nanometer scale. In a second part, the project will focus on the investigation of foams based on PolyOxoMetalates, which may serve simultaneously as foam stabilizers and complexating agents for the recovery of valuable metal ions, such as lanthanides and others transition metals (Mo, V, W, Ta …).
